Courses
COURSES (starting autumn 2006)
I have 9 years of experience teaching adults and
13 years experience working with Feng Shui. I
have developed these classes to be appropriate
for beginners as well as for those who have more
experience with Feng Shui. Each module or class
includes practical exercises which give students
concrete examples to help strengthen their
understanding of each system. The courses build
upon each other, so it's important to start a
cycle with the first module.
These programs will provide the you with
a thorough understanding of the history and
fundamental principles of Feng Shui. After
completing this program you will be able to
identify problem areas in your home or office and
will be capable of choosing an appropriate remedy
to either fix a problem or to activate a part of
your life which is in need of a boost.
Module
1: Introduction and fundamental principles
We explore
the theories upon which Feng Shui is based:
Yin/Yang interactions, man's place in the
universe and Traditioanl Chinese Medicine. We
also examine the evolution of Feng Shui in China,
it's impact on the Empereur, and its spread in
the West. You will study the 5 animals, the 5
elements and the ideal organisation of a house.
Module
2: The Ba Gua and Trigrams
The
trimgrams were born of the Taoist theory of Yin
and Yang and provide us with important
information about the quality of energy which
comes from the cardinal and intercardinal
directions. The Ba Gua is the most easily
recognised tool of Feng Shui. You will learn how
to use these two systems correctly and accurately
in order to activate or correct situations in the
9 areas of life.
Module
3: Ba Zhai, Kai Men and Ming Gua (8 Palaces)
This
system, the calculations for which are based on
the front door and the sitting orientation of a
building, allows you to calculate favorable and
unfavorable directions for both people and
places. With this information you can optimise
the placement of furniture in a home or office
and avoid negative areas.
Module
4: 9 Star Ki (Feng Shui Astrology)
This method provides information concerning
timing and helps you to be at the right place at
the right time. It is a technique which is
extremely accurate and is very useful.
Module
5: Yi Jing (a.k.a. I Ching)
Often call "The Book of Changes" the Yi
Jing is in reality a book which helps the reader
choose the most appropriate strategy in a given
situation, depending on when an answer is
requested. It is one of the foundations of Feng
Shui and in ancient times was
memorised by government officials because it
provided such consise and rich council.
Module
6: Site visit
This day-long module is devoted to applying the
techniques learned during the five preceeding
modules including site analysis and making
adjustements according to Form School, Ba Gua and
8 Palaces indications. Above all it is an
opportunity to refine your powers of Feng Shui
observation and to put into practice your
abilities in a new environment while having the
benefit of professional supervision.
